Alan Wadkins Ltd Tool Store - Specialists in Hand Tools, Power Tools & Garden Equipment

In 1958 Alan worked as an aircraft fitter in Luton, in his spare time he called on factories selling tools & equipment from a wheelbarrow. He progressed initially to a market stall before later that year opening his first shop supplying mainly Government surplus tools & equipment. In 1962 Alan moved to Darlington finding premises in Clifton Road.

In 2009 we moved the Darlington site to its present location in Chesnut Street, which is now 3 times bigger, also being one of the largest walk around hands-on tool stores in the North of England, with onsite customer parking for your convenience.

We are not just a warehouse either; a warm welcome awaits all visitors from our team of enthusiastic knowledgeable staff, most having served with the company for many, many years
